Description
English: Excavation of the gatehouse of the medieval castle of Oldenburg, Lower Saxony, Germany.
Deutsch: Das Torhaus der verschwundenen Burg Oldenburg wurde im August 2011 bei der Neupflasterung des Schloßplatzes entdeckt, es war bislang nur durch historische Abbildungen bekannt. Zwischen dem Torhaus und der Burg (dem heutigen Schloß) befand sich die den Burggraben überspannende Holzbrücke. Glücklicherweise konnte der Fund gründlich archäologisch untersucht werden, wenn auch sein Standort leider nicht im neuen Pflaster markiert wurde.
