| Description |
English: Old railway crossing gates. This line is no longer in regular use but the gates are still in place. A station of this line, now a private dwelling house, can still be seen near Station Road in North Elmham, further to the north. > 607798. A little further to the south the railway track is crossed by a road bridge > 607068.
The line is under restoration by the volunteers at the Mid Norfolk railway as part of their long term aim of extending to Fakenham. The line closed in 1989 after grain traffic at North Elmham ceased. (Thanks to Ashley Dace for additional information.) |
