Summary
[edit]DescriptionOld peat workings - geograph.org.uk - 668716.jpg |
English: Old peat workings Beneath the peat in Westhay Moor is a blue-gray clay which was deposited at the end of the most recent glaciation. Once this has been reached the peat company has no further use for the land and so it is left to flood. As a result of recent heavy and persistent rain this area is flooded more than usual. |
