| Description |
English: Old lazybeds at Geocrab Few crofts are now worked in this area, but the old lazybeds, formerly used for cultivation, are still evident. They were created in the poor ground by digging trenches, piling up the soil between the trenches and improving and fertilising it with seaweed, shells and manure. Far from being a lazy method of cultivation, this was back-breaking work. |
