Summary
[edit]DescriptionOld harbour, Dundrum (1 of 3) - geograph.org.uk - 1012780.jpg |
English: Old harbour, Dundrum (1 of 3) 24156 shows how Dundrum harbour was redeveloped after its closure to commercial shipping in 1984 - something inevitable given bigger ships and the bar which hindered navigation. Its trade had been mostly imports of coal (by the East Downshire Steamship Company) and occasional exports of pit props. By 1999 it presented a sorry (albeit atmospheric) sight with many of the buildings in a state of decay. This was once a coal store. Continue to 1012784. |
