| Description |
English: Old Steamer Staging, Hotwells, Bristol looking down from the suspension bridge. The Campbell Steamers used to dock here taking people on trips up and down the Bristol Channel. To the left is the Colonnade which extended further before the 'Portway' road was built and ended in a little Jetty where the Hotwells (St Vincent well) waters could be taken. To the left of the picture is what remains of the lower station of the Rocks Railway - for more info on the railway: http://www.farvis.com/RocksRly-text.htm |
