| Description |
English: Old Quarry on the Southern Slope of Cox Tor Unlike most of Dartmoor, Cox Tor is not make of Granite, it is made of shales and dolerite which have been metamorphosed (and hardened) by the heat of the molten rock which eventually solidified into the Dartmoor granite. This small quarry may have been opened to get hardcore for the road at the bottom of the hill. |
