Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Screenshot from a scene flashed during the American historical film Old Ironsides (1926), from the marketplace in Tripoli. After an intertitle notes captives are sold as slaves, a longshot of the auction platform shows an uncredited nude long-haired women in the background. After a closeup of Esther Ralston's character shows an expression turning to horror, the woman is shown in a out-of-focus flashed shot (flashed shots consisting of just a few frames were often required by state censorship boards for "offensive" scenes that were needed for the plot). A second flashed scene a moment later shows the woman being whipped. The woman is not shown again during the film.
