Summary
[edit]DescriptionOld Hall, South Burlingham - geograph.org.uk - 1491617.jpg |
English: Old Hall, South Burlingham A Grade II* listed 16th century house. The outstanding feature is the (very short) "Long Gallery" running from front to back of the house in the top floor of the porch. It is decorated with grisaille paintings of hunting scenes which are considered to be of national importance and have been carefully conserved as part of a long-term scheme of repair by the present owners, following many years of decay. More wall paintings are waiting to be uncovered in an adjoining attic room.
The house is usually open to the public during Heritage Open Days weekend in September. |
