Summary
[edit]DescriptionOld GWR bridge at Wednesbury Town station (geograph 3257661).jpg |
English: Old GWR bridge at Wednesbury Town station This is the remains of the bridge which used to carry the GWR main line across the South Staffordshire railway at Wednesbury. It's now been rebuilt and carries the Midland Metro line, but when this was taken in 1993 the GWR line had been demolished south of this point and the remaining spur, which had been used to supply Wednesbury steel terminal, was used for wagon storage. The South Staffs railway had been closed for about a week at this point: the track is still there today but it's a lot more overgrown now! See Tim Marshall's photo of the same spot at 1710498. |
