| Description |
English: Taken from the footbridge over the ex-A102M East Cross Route on the site of the former Old Ford Railway station on the North London Line, which closed to passengers in 1944 and finally to goods traffic c 1980 after a long slow death. The former Public House remembers the NLR. A section of the Old Ford Road remains on the opposite side of the footbridge, renamed. A toothless Arbeiter inquired my business as I took this photo, and I told him. He said that was a long time ago, and walked off. No primary resource there then.
In the backgorund, a fine disused chapel and the award winning Fabrika or Donnybrook development in an exciting Czech modernist style. |
