English: Old Ford, Eye Bridge This was the old ford from Cowgrove to Eye Mead until the weir was built.
The raised water level now forces the farmer to turn left and cross along the back of the weir itself. When the River Stour is high, the 107 acre island of Eye Mead cannot be reached by ford, but only by crossing the fields of Bear Mead, about half a mile upstream. Just off frame to the right is Eye Bridge (a wooden footbridge). Behind the photographer is Eyebridge car park |
