English: Built in 1883, this Italianate-style building originally served as the city hall for Gibsonburg, and once housed the Gibsonburg and Madison Township Fire Department on the first floor, which at one point had two garage bays on the first floor of the front facade which have since been removed. The building features a brick facade with pilasters, with these most heavily concentrated at the corners, a two-slope hipped roof with a steeper lower slope and a shallower upper slope, broad eaves, brick corbeling below the eaves, decorative bands of limestone trim and decorative limestone lintels, a rusticated stone base, a central entry tower on the principal facade with an arched first floor doorway, arched second floor window, and a tower above, which is a massively simplified version of its original form, brick infill on the first floor at the locations of former garage bays from when the front wing of the building was utilized as a garage for fire trucks, a metal fire escape on one side, and a one-story rear wing housing garage bays for the Madison Township-Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department. The building no longer functions as Gibsonburg’s City Hall, but continues to serve as a fire station for Gibsonburg and the surrounding Madison Township.
