English: General view of the old part of the city from the Bay of Wagen (Vagen), which divides the city into old and new parts. Towering over the city the mountain is called Floyen , and on top of it a height of 320 m lead cable car
City Of Bergen The way to Bergen is partly by land, partly by ferry, and partly by tunnels under water channels. The length of the tunnels in one case reached 8 km, and the depth of the lower point -300m. Residents of the city rightly believe that they live here as in a bath because of the frequent precipitation, reaching 2 m per year. The city was founded by king Olav Kyrre between 1066 and 1093 and at the same time became the capital of the state and remained the largest city in the country for 600 years. At that time, navigation and trade in dried cod were the main occupations of the inhabitants of the city. The impetus for the flourishing of the city was the transfer to it in the early 13th century. Royal and Episcopal residences. In 1343, Hanseatic merchants appeared in the city, and one of the four overseas offices of the Hanseatic League was located here. The office exported dried cod and imported beer and salt from the Northern regions of Germany. At first, the main task of this Union was collective protection against sea robbers, but then the predominant goal was the harmonization of trade activities. In the middle of the 14th century the seat of the Union was lübeck, the impact of which often exceeds the influence of the Royal power. The last Hanseatic office was closed in 1764, but the city remained a major trading center and prospered in contrast to the rest of the areas, whose economy is almost not developed under the rule of Denmark. The city had almost no contact with these areas, and the residents of Bergen were presented as follows: "I did not come from Norway, I came from Bergen." Railway connection with the interior of the country was established only in 1909. 8 km South of the city is the Villa "Troldhaugen" (Trolddhaugen) – "Troll hill", where 22 years lived Edward Grieg(1843-1907). Here he wrote many of his musical works and here he was buried with his wife Nina.
Deutsch: Stadt Bergen
