| Description |
English: Old 'Hill End' Railway platform, St Albans. Now a cycle and footpath, Alban Way is the route of the old Hatfield to St Albans Railway. This platform was the Hill End station. Photographed looking west. The station was opened in 1899, it served the old Mental Hospital, adjoining to the south. It was closed to passengers in 1951 although freight trains continued until 1964. |
