Montbeillard ne donne que neuf plumes à ce faisceau j mais les individus que jaivus en ont davantage. 4 26 HISTOIRE NATURELLE LE PROMEROPS BLEU. P L \A N C H E I X. Tète, corps, ailes et queue bleus. Blue Promerops. Latham, Sjnop. Suppl. M. La.th AM, qui, le premier , a décrit cette nouvelle espèce ,dit quelle se trouve dansFInde; mais il ignore dans quelle partie.Ce Promerops^ presquaussi gros que celui à bec rouge, a lesmandibules noires, plus fortes, plus courbées que celles de lahuppe, et longues de vingt-deux lignes 5 liris rouge 5 tout leplumage bleu , mais moins vif sur les parties inférieures : les ailesétant pliées sétendent jusquau quart de la queue , qui a quatrepouces quatre lignes de longueur, et est un peu cunéiforme5 lespieds sont dune couleur de plomb pâle. Cet oiseau a été dessiné à Londres.
