Description Aerial photo of Platform Holly just offshore from Isla Vista (Santa Barbara County), California. View to Southeast from about 2000 feet, taken 10:50am 1/12/09. Shows apparent oil leak plume spreading West, with small areas of natural seepage also visible (such as in bottom-left of photo). Cropped from original 2896x1944 image, but otherwise not edited (no enhancement or correction). Note that there is a dark area about 80px wide/40px high centered at about pixel 1100 horizontal and 575 vertical, caused by a dust speck on the Nikon D-80's sensor (there is at least one other less-visible speck below and left of it and all were identified in other shots taken during that flight).
