Description

The central Recruiting Depot in Currie Street, Adelaide was opened by the state governor, Sir Henry Galway on 2 August 1915. The new depot was located in the Tolleys Buildings, a three storey warehouse donated to military authorities for the purpose and replaced the depot in Wayville. Open every day and two evenings a week, it was the location for the medical examinations of all recruits, both from the city and country.
