k City is a Hve organ-ization and conducts championships in all branches of sport. The annual basket ball tournament for the past season wascarried on with the usual success of such features by this thrivingorganization. The following clubs were represented: Bethany A. C, GraceA. C, Madison Square Church House A. C, St. George A. C. ofManhattan, and Trinity A. C. of Brooklyn. The teams were divided as formerly into three divisions,namely—Seniors, unlimited weight; Juniors, team average 130pounds, no individual player to weigh over 135 pounds; Midgets,team average no pounds, no individual player to weigh over 115pounds. The teams in the three divisions were entered as follows: Senior Division.I—Bethany A. C. r Grace A. C.^t Trinity A. C.3—St. George A. C.4—Mad. Sq. ChurchHouse A. C. Junior Division.I—St. George A. Fisher o I3l3l3l3l3lltisil If the season of 1906 found basket ball firmly entrenched inits position as the leading winter sport of the colleges the closeof the past season proved beyond any question of doubt thatthe position attained is to be a permanent one. Never beforein the history of the game has there been such a sound andenthusiastic interest shown in the King of Winter Sports inall the colleges and universities throughout the country. Thereis no question in the minds of those vitally interested in thesuccess of the game, that college basket ball is to be a decidedfactor in the athletic calendar of all our schools of learning. Where a few years ago the colleges played three or fourscattering games during the winter, to-day we find a well-governed and a strong league in every locality of the country. The Eastern Intercollegiate League started its season on the15th of December with an ideal circuit of six
