Washington University hasbeen represented by a number of former interscholastic stars,and early in the season looked as though they would be strongcontenders for the intercollegiate trophy, but largely throughlack of games their playing at the close of the season tooka decided slump. Missouri State University was in the fieldfor the first time and was especially favored in having in theirline-up four men who had played the game for several seasonson the strong Y.M.C.A. five of Joplin, Mo., and by annexing aformer star of the Central High School of St. Louis, they soonhad a playing aggregation that for a time was almost unbeatable.They won victories over all the strong contenders for StateChampionship honors, including Kansas City A.C., MissouriA.C., Washington University, William Jewell College, Warrens-

Besides these State teams they won from KansasUniversity and Haskell Indians, but the State Championship titl«can hardly be conceded to them in view of the fact that theywere decisively beaten in the last game of the season on theirown court by the Missouri Athletic Club five. The points in thislast game, both field goals and tallies earned from the foul line,were in favor of the Missouri A.C. team. The Haskell Indians arranged and played the most ambitiousschedule of any of our Western teams. On their Eastern tripthey played in Chicago, Indianapolis, Dayton, Chillicothe, Cincin-nati, Louisville, St. Louis, Columbia and Kansas City.
