Description |
English: Opnamedatum: 2012-04-02. Created circa 1632 - 1633. Odysseus' crewman grab and slay one of the sun-god's sacred cows, despite his warnings. In the foreground, one can see the sea god Neptune threaten the ship with his trident, while in the background a young nymph (perhaps the Sun's daughter Lampetia) informs the sun god, mounted on his chariot, of the sacrilege. Engraving.
