Description

The 15th century glass was said to have been found buried in the churchyard. It was restored in the 19th century. It has been dated from between 1460 -1495, and is probably from the Twygge Wodeshaw workshop. Richard Marks estimated the cost was 8 to 10d per square foot. 1a A priest praying at his desk with a book. The inscription (missing) referred to William Harries. 1b-2b Assorted fragments below a Bishop, probably St Wulstan. 1c A kneeling priest, dressed as a sub-deacon. The inscription in 3c "Dns Johnes Haryes" refers to him. 2a Donor figures with Orate inscription. these are John and Joan Yarnold. (The family of Yarnold is still present in the area today). 2c Husband and wife donors 3a-4a St Katherine and her wheel. 3b-4b An Archbishop - probably Thomas Becket. The inscription "Sanctus Martinus" is an insert which probably referred to a lost figure. 3c Fragments, including Christ with Crown of Thorns. 4c Upper part of female Saint. 5a Arms of The King (Richard Duke of York) impaled Neville. 5c The Arms of Mortimer.
