Summary
[edit]DescriptionOddicombe - Rock fall - geograph.org.uk - 1724240.jpg |
English: Oddicombe - Rock fall. Rain and freezing conditions over the winter must have had their impact on this sandstone headland. It has been estimated that 5000 tonnes of rock fell in his latest rockfall. Whilst on the beach taking the photograph, three small falls of sand and gravel were observed along with a four fall of a substantial number of large rocks.
The sea was coloured red from the sandstone particles which are being watched partly by the rain and partly by the sea into the water along the beach. A colour into the water extended outwards around 200 m. As a safety precaution, the public are being advised to keep well clear. 1724234 The photo was taken on a dull, wet and misty February afternoon. |
