Description
Español: En el pueblo de La Sabana, en el Edo. Vargas, una playa bordea todo el terreno conocido, a donde vienen siempre las tortugas marinas a depositar sus huevos en temporadas muy específicas. No tuvimos la suerte de ver a una hembra desovar, pero si pudimos estar para el momento en el que los huevos eclosionaron. En La Sabana está activo un programa de conservación de las especies, donde un grupo de muchachos bastante jóvenes guardan los huevos lejos de los depredadores y de las personas que pudieran desenterrarlos con otros fines, los cuidan hasta que eclosionan y luego, el dia de la liberación, le dan un trotuguillo a cada niño de la playa para que coloque al pequeño en la arena y protegan su camino hacia la libertad y la vida en el mar.
