Grassland and Cover Crop Soil Health Workshop October 15, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A morning snack and lunch will be provided. ∙ What is soil health and why does it matter? ∙ Is my grassland Healthy or do I need tomake changes? ∙ How do I assess my grassland to decide what changes are needed? ∙ What does it take to increase production on your grassland? ∙ Are cover crops worth it? ∙ How do cover crops fit into my cropping and grazing system? ∙ What cover crop mixes work and whay are the benefits for grazing and crop production? Presenters: Stan Boltz, NRCS South Dakota State Rangeland Specialist, Huron, Justin Fruechte, Milborn Seeds, Forage and Cover Crop Specialist; and, Eric Barsness, NRCS, Agronomist, Brookings.
