Title
English: Occidental Block, 3rd Ave. and Cherry St., Seattle.
Description
English: Shows Shorey's Old Book Store (701 3rd Ave.); portion of New York Block at left.
  • Subjects (LCTGM): Bookstores--Washington (State)--Seattle; Business districts--Washington (State)--Seattle
  • Subjects (LCSH): Occidental Block (Seattle, Wash.); Shorey's Old Book Store (Seattle, Wash.)
I (User:Jmabel) doubt the designation of this as the "Occidental Block". It did contain a Hotel called the Occidental, but usually "Occidental Block" refers to the near-triangular building of the Seattle Hotel (or even more often, the building of its pre-fire predecessor in that location, the Occidental Hotel). Elsewhere on the University of Washington Libraries site, in the MOHAI collection, https://digitalcollections.lib.washington.edu/digital/collection/imlsmohai/id/9364/ calls this the "Seattle Block", which I believe is correct. (It also contains some more information about Shorey's.)
