[edit]DescriptionObsolete Key (13647126005).jpg |
When I got my first car in 1971 I joined the Automobile Association (AA). In those far off days, before the advent of mobile phones, it was necessary to find a call box (also now obsolete) to ring for help. In rural areas where the phone boxes were few & far between the AA provided Large Yellow phone boxes for the exclusive use of their members. To gain access to one it was necessary to have a large key which was issued when one joined. This key has been with my car keys for the last 43 years and even though all the AA boxes have gone it will remain. As you can see, 43 years of close contact with other keys has knocked off all the sharp edges. If AA boxes existed I doubt it would open them.
