Description
English: Block of flow-banded obsidian in Lipari in the Aeolian Islands, Italy, with sunglasses for scale. This obsidian block is from the Rocche Rosse obsidian lava flow, which has been dated at 1230±40 AD. It is the youngest lava from the Monte Pilato pumice cone.
