Description
Deutsch: Marterl für Alois Oberzaucher vlg Ranner am Lerchriegl oberhalb von Obermillstatt in der Gemeinde Millstatt am Millstätter Berg (Hochplateau) über dem Millstättersee in Kärnten / Österreich / Europäische Union, der an dieser Stelle 1897 tödlich verunglückt ist. Inschrift: „Hier ist bei einem Baumführen verunglückt Alois Oberzaucher vulgo Ranner am 12. Oktober 1897. [Rest unleserlich]“. Baumführen bezeichnete den Transport von Baumstämmen per Hand und oder Zugtieren ins Tal. Alois wurde von einem Baum, der für einen Brunnen gedacht war, getötet. Er war ein Sohn vom vlg Herzog, der zum Ranner geheiratet hatte. Der Ranner war um 1900 der größte Bauer in Obermillstatt. Der Hof stand dort, wo heute das Obermillstätter Gemeinschaftshauses steht. Zum Hof gehörten die schönsten Felder südlich des Ortes sowie die größten Teile des Lerchriegls, ein Almgebiet auf der Millstätter Alpe. Die zugewachsene Alm, auf der das Marterl steht, nennen die Einheimischen das "Anderlebabrische".

Inscription: "Here was a tree run accident of Alois Oberzaucher vulgo Ranner 12 Oktober, 1897. [Remainder illegible]. "The Run of trees available for the transport of logs by hand or animal traction into the valley. Alois was from a tree that was intended for a fountain killed. He was a son of the commonly known as Herzog, who had married to Ranner farmer. The Ranner was in 1900 the largest farmer in Obermillstatt. The farm stood where now stands the house Obermillstätter community. The farm belonged to the most beautiful areas south of the town and the largest part of the Lerchriegls, a pasture on the Millstätter Alpe Millstaetter. The overgrown pasture, where the shrine is, the locals call "Anderlebabrisches".
