[edit]DescriptionOakwell Hall (6340175721).jpg |
Oakwell Hall taken on my late brothers camera in August 2007 (now my moms camera). (either my mom or he took them - can't recall exactly) An Elizabethan Manor House in the village of Birstall, West Yorkshire. Construction began in 1583. It was the home of the Batt family in the 16th and 17th centurys. It is currently furnished as it was in the 1690s. In the 19th century it was visited by Charlotte Bronte. It inspired her to set the Manor House as Fieldhead in her novel Shirley. |
