Description
English: Riaz Musani from The Aerospace Corporation and Lt. Col. Heather Bogstie, Operationally Responsive Space (ORS)-5 program manager, runs through the countdown checklist Friday afternoon while on console inside the historic Hangar AE Launch Control Center at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station., along Florida's Space Coast.
The launch team is conducting an eight-hour countdown in preparation for launching a five-stage Orbital ATK Minotaur IV launch vehicle, carrying the ORS-5 satellite, also known as SensorSat. The missions is also carrying three CubeSats for two government research agencies via a RideShare agreement. 
The Air Force and its mission partners, including the Space and Missile Systems Center, is responsible for the launch and operation of the ORS-5 mission. The LCC in Hangar AE has been used for the majority of unmanned NASA and U.S. Air Force space launches, dating back to the early 1950s. The four-hour launch window for ORS-5 opens Aug. 25 at 11:15 p.m. EDT and can be viewed via a webcast at www.orbitalatk.com. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Van De Ha)
