  • Die Deutsche Arbeitsfront (DAF) war in der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus der Einheitsverband der Arbeitnehmer und Arbeitgeber. Sie war nach dem Führerprinzip bis hinab zum Blockwart organisiert und unterstand dem Reichsorganisationsleiter der NSDAP Robert Ley.


English: Organisationsbuch der N.S.D.A.P., 3rd edition of the official Nazi Party (NSDAP) handbook on the party’s structure, paramilitary suborganizations, uniforms, etc., published in Nazi Germany (the Third Reich) 1937:
  • Plate 26: Uniforms of the German Labour Front (German: Deutsche Arbeitsfront, DAF)
  • Service insignia of the factory brigades (Dienstabzeichen der Werkscharen der DAF)
In November 1933 dark blue uniforms and emblems were provided for all members of the Labour Front which had to be obtained at the expense of the members. Rank was indicated by a series of arm chevrons; silver for lower rank and gold for senior positions.
Four colours were adopted to indicate various State levels for the DAF Werkscharführer; yellow for DAF Oberst-Werkscharführer; red for DAF Gau-Werkscharführer, black for DAF Kreis-Werkscharführer and light blue for DAF Haupt-Werkscharführer and Werkscharführer. These four colours were used as piping to the shoulder straps and for the coloured lanyards worn on the uniform.
