Summary
[edit]DescriptionOCP71, emitter side.jpg |
OCP71 germanium phototransistor in clear glass SO2 case. This is otherwise identical to the OC71 PNP transistor, except for the clear case. The large square is the base substrate of n-type germanium. The blob on top of this is the indium pellet, used to form a layer of p-type germanium and thus the emitter. A similar, but larger, blob on the other side forms the collector. The contact below the blob is the wire connection to the base.[1] Bought new, over the counter in a radio shop, in 2011! |
