Summary
[edit]DescriptionNymphes myrmeleonoides (5433352698).jpg |
Nymphes myrmeleonoides, Leach, 1814, larvae recently emerged from eggs laid in characteristic U-shape, Aranda, ACT, 10 February 2011 This image is taken 20 hours after the previous image. There seem to be one or two fewer larvae in this photo. Identification based on close resemblance to drawing of Nymphidae larvae in Insects of Australia (in distinction from other neuropteran larvae illustrated), and the statement in that work that the U-shaped egg cluster is distinctive of the species. |
