Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Nut Wood and Wauldby Scrogs broadleaf woodland, Wauldby, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
The trees are a glorious mixture of beech, ash, and elm, with a few oaks at the eastern end and an occasional sycamore. The elms succumb to disease once the trunk has a diameter of about 25cm and the tree is about 6 metres tall. There are many fallen trees which are consumed by insects and fungus and then become nutrients for the woodland.
