Summary
[edit]DescriptionNumbers 3 & 4 approaching Rhydyronen Station, Talyllyn Railway (geograph 5811453).jpg |
English: Numbers 3 & 4 approaching Rhydyronen Station, Talyllyn Railway. A double headed train is approaching with No. 3 leading No. 4. No. 3 is Sir Hadyn, built in 1878 by Hughes Locomotive and tramway Engineering works of Loughborough. Built as an 0-4-0 it is now an 04-2 ST. It worked on the Corris Railway and came to the Talyllyn in 1951. It has just come back from boiler work at the Vale of Rheidol Railway and this allowed all six Talyllyn engines to be in steam. Behind is No. 4 - built in 1921 by Kerr' Stuart & Co for use on the Corris Railway. It came to the Talyllyn in 1951. For a while it had a Giesl ejector but now has a conventional chimney. The two engines are in the same livery. |
