“水にせぬ ふかき恩きも ふミこんだ 沼津にあしの ぬけぬ旅人 梅屋“
『伊賀越道中双六』の「沼津の段」を描いた錦絵。伊賀越道中双六は唐木政右衛門（荒木又右衛門）が義弟の和田志津馬（渡辺数馬）に助太刀して、伊賀上野で敵である沢井股五郎（河合又五郎）を討つという筋で、沼津の段は股五郎を助けるべく東海道を上る呉服屋十兵衛が年老いた雲助（実は生き別れの父である平作、志津馬の義父）と娘のお米（志津馬が想いを寄せる吉原の傾城瀬川、十兵衛の妹）との敵味方に分かれた人々の邂逅を描く。
