[edit]DescriptionNuclear Disablement Team trains in South Carolina DVIDS542507.jpg |
English: All of the targets, including a pump house on Savannah River Site involved life-like scenarios. The soldiers, wearing the equipment that protects against contamination, treated each setting with the caution and strict adherence to guidelines that would be followed during the collection and securing of a nuclear facility. As part of their practices, the team also screens each other for radiation after they leave the suspected contamination area. The teams, staffed with nuclear engineers, radiation technicians, chemical technicians, EOD personnel and physicists spent more than a week at the site, working through various scenarios. |
