Medical card of Buchenwald CC prisoner Kazimierz Nowicki (1923-1977), Polish

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Medical card of Kazimierz Nowicki (1923-1977), as a Polish political prisoner of the Buchenwald Nazi Concentration Camp, obverse (top) and reverse (bottom).

About the obverse: All the ailments attest to the conditions at which the inmates, among them thousands of Poles like Nowicki, were being held at by the German Nazis in Buchenwald CC. These are: bruise on the calf already two months after the transfer, nephritis. And finally, two years after the transfer from Auschwitz, Nowicki, the only 22 year old man who should have been studying and enjoyed life, suffered from "allgemeine Schwäche" or general weakness.

Attention should also be payed to the entry and the date on the left side of the obverse: typhus in 1942. That was at the time when Nowicki was at the Auschwitz German Nazi Concentration Camp where he was subject to pseudomedical experiments and was purposefully infected with this disease.
