NOVELTIES AND SPECIALTIES FOR 1897. 13 New Imperial Japanese Morning Glories. GIGANTIC FLOWERS. MAGNIFICENT FOLIAGE. EXQUISITE NEW COLORS. 3850. Were sent out for the first time last season with the assurance that they would prove a surprise to all, our claims for their marvellous beauty as made in our last catalogue have been more than fulfilled In our trials last summer they were the first to elicit the admiration of visitors. The leaves are large, heart- shaped, many of them a rich dark- color, marbled with silvery white or yellow. The flowers are reallv gigantic, double the size of the or- dinary kind. Their varieties of color are infinite, running from / snowy white through all possible shades of blue, and of red, from palest pink to darkest reds and pur- oles. They are streaked, mottled, griped, marbled and bordered in wonderful fashion. The Imperial (apanese Morning Glories are of the easiest culture. But as the seed is an lard or flinty, before sowing treat as el ollows: Draw a sharp knife across me edge of the seed, just enough to :ut through the shell, then soak in uke-warm water long enough to have eed swell to double the size they yere when dry.
