Plant in hills 4 feet apart for the bush varieties and 6 or 8 feet apart for running sorts. Put 6 or 8 seeds in a hill, thinning when all dancrer £r6m insects is past to 3 or 4 plants in a hill. Summer Squashes. WHITE BUSH SCALLOP. Ripens very early, skin white and tender and bears abundantly. Pkt., 3c; oz., 7c; % lb., 20c; lb., 60c fYELLOW BUSH SCALLOP. Similar to preceding except in color. Both are of excellent quality and well adapted for shipping a long distance to market. Pkt., 3c; oz., 7c; % lb., 20c; lb., 60c ^GOLDEN SUMMER CROOKNECK. The richest of the summer sorts. Early and productive. Bright yellow with warted skin. Pkt., 3c; oz., 7c; % lb., 20c; lb., 60c V^QIANT SUMMER CROOKNECK. Not only earlier than the comfrnon variety, but grows twice the size, and is a great seller therefore dearable for market gardeners. Pkt., 5c; oz., 10c; lb., 25c; lb., 85c. V PERFECT GEM. Wonderfully prolific; fruit round; flesh cream 2/dry sweet and rich. Good for either summer or winter use. .;<*.;7c.;-X lb., 20c.; lb., 70c. . Fall and Winter Squashes. CAG0 ORANGE MARROW. The earliest by ten days of the winter squashes. It is creamy orange in color; fine form, hand- some appearance, and keeps a long time. In great demand by Chicago pie bakers who prefer it to all others. Pkt., 5c; oz., 10c. % lb., 25c.ylb , 85c •SIBLEY. Shell very hard and flinty but so thin there is very little waste in paring. An excellent shipper. Flesh solid and thick, vivid; brilliant orange in color, dry and having a rich flavor peculiarly its own. Very productive and ripens its fruit so evenly that nearly the whole crop can be gathered at one picking. It keeps perfectly sound until the last of June. Pkt., 3c; oz., 7c; % lb., 20c; lb., 75c VESSEX HYBRID. A medium late sort, a good one to follow peas or potatoes. Flesh orange, solid and thick, fine grained and rich flavor. A quick grower. Pkt., 3c; oz., 7c; % lb., 20c; lb., 75c. h BOSTON MARROW. A splendid pie and table squash. Flesh salmon colored, dry, fine grained and sweet. Pkt., 3c; oz., 7c; % lb., 20c; lb., 60c ^MARBLEHEAD. It resembles the Hubbard, has a harder ell. Flesh light yellow, dry and delicious. A variety that is Keeps lb., 20c much esteemed. Pkt., 5c; oz., 10c; %. lb., 20c; lb., 75c BAY STATE. Shell, bluish-green, hard and flinty, long time. Flesh golden yellow. Pkt., 3c; oz., 7c; ^ lb., 60c. ^MAMMOTH CHILI. The largest of all squashes. We have evidence of one of this variety attaining the enormous weight of 292 lbs. Flesh very thick, yellow and nutritious. Specially recom- mended for exhibition purposes and feeding to stock. Pkt., 5c; oz., 10c; X lb., 25c; lb., 90c ^WINTER CROOKNECK. Vines very long, hardy, vigorous, productive, and sure to mature their crops nicely. Flesh salmon- colored and unusually solid, sweet and of good flavor. Pkt., 5c; oz., 10c; % lb., 20c;'lb., 75c. \ HI (UBBARD. Regarded as the standard winter squash. Very hard shell; excellent keeper, the best for table use. Flesh dark yellow, fine grained, dry and sweet. Our seed is most carefully selected and will give satisfaction. Pkt., 3c; oz., 7c; % lb., 15c; lb., 50c. i« WARTED HUBBARD. In color it is blackish- green; the shell is very hard and covered with warty kn^bs which is a marked characteristic Flavor and long- keeping qualities are said to be better than the old.
