STOWELL S EVEKGEEEN. NEW EARLY EVERGREEN. EARLY EVERGREEN SWEET CORN As is well known, the famous Evergreen Sweet Corn originated over twenty years ago with Mr. Stowell, a grower for Philadelphia markets; but while one of the best late varieties, no effort has ever been made to improve it in easi- ness until now. In the New Early Evergreen we have a selection possessing every good quality of Stowell's Ever- green and resembling it in every respect (see photograph of marketable ears above, made for comparison), except that the stalk is about one foot shorter, more closely jointed, and that it will mature for market in eighty days, or fully ten days earlier. No other sweet corn will find ready sale in a market which is supplied with Early Evergreen, and the market gnrdener who wishes to get the cream of the trade, or the home gardener who wants his table supplied with the best, should make their plantings of this splendid variety. Pkt., 10c; pt., 25c.; qt., 40c, postpaid; by freight or express, qt., 30c; peck, S1.25; bush., §4.50. SweCt Com — Late Varieties ORIGINAL STOWELL'S EVERGREEN A large part of the sugar corn sold as Stowell's Evergreen is not the true stock. We have seen what purported to be Stowell's Evergreen, growing on six different farms, and there were no two of these crops the same corn, and not one of them the true Evergreen as originated by Mr. Stowell. We are satisfied that a majority of gardeners who have for many years grown what was called Stowell's Evergreen, have really never had that variety in its original purity. Our stock has been carefully selected each season from seed originally purcha-ed from the originator, and notwithstand- ing there have been scores of new varieties introduced since, there is to-day no late sweet corn more satisfactory than the true Stowell's Evergreen, for either market, family use or canning. Pint, VOc; qt., 85c, postpaid. If by freight or ex- press, per qt., 25c ; peck, 75c : bush., 82.75. Special prices by letter for larger quantities. Late Sweet Cor n Continued Large packets, 10c; ears, 15o. each, postpaid. ZIG-ZAQ EVERGREEN SWEET CORN This new variety is one of the sweetest and best late Sweet Corns we ha%-e ever grown. The ears resemble Stowell's Evergreen in size and shape, except that the kernels- are placed irregularly or zig-zag upon the cob, which is al- ways an indication of great sweetness in any variety of sugar corn. Pint, 25c; qt., 35c, postpaid; qt., 25c; peck, 81.00; bush., 83.50, by freight or express. COUNTRY GENTLE/IAN SWEET CORN The Shoe Peg Corn, introduced by us some years since, has become very popular and well known. The Country Gentleman, which was originated for the express purpose of excelling the Shoe Peg, possesses all its superior quali- ties, viz., the deepest grain, smallest cob and richest flavor, and resembles Shoe Peg in every other respect, except that the ears are much larger. Notwithstanding the greater size of the ear, it is fully as productive, producing three to four gfood ears to the stalk. Pint, 20c: qt., 35c, postpaid; qt., 25c; peck, 85c, bush., 83.00, by freight or express. LATE HAMMOTH SWEET CORN A popular market sort, ripening a little later than Ever- green. The largest of all: ears often weighing 2 to 3 pound* each. Very productive, flavor rich and sweet. Pint, 20c; qt., 35c, postpaid; qt., 25c; peck, 85c; bush.,$3.00, by freight. EGYPTIAN, or WASHINGTON MARKET. A large variety, somewhat resembling the Evergreen; flavor pecu- liarly rich and sweet, fine for market. Pint, 20c; qt., 35c.T postpaid; bv express or freight, qt., 25c; peck, 85c; bush.. $3.00. SHOE PEG, or NE PLUS ULTRA. Originated at Bordentown, N. J. The stalks are of medium height, kernel is small, very long, white and exceedinglv tender. Pint,. 20c; qt., 35c, postpaid; peck, S1.00; bush., §3.50. BLACK MEXICAN. Black grains, verv sweet and rich in flavor. Pint, 20c; qt., 35c; peck, 90c; bush., 83.50. Fodder Sweet Corn. For soiling and green fodder. Bush., Sr.60 ; 5 bush, and over, 81.50 per bush. Pop Corn for the Boys QUEEN'S GOLDEN POP CORN. This new sort is one of the best of all for popping, owing to its large size, ex- treme tenderness and pure white color when popped. It grows about six feet in height, and bears three to four good ears to a stalk. Ear, 10c; 4 ears, 25c; shelled, per pkt., 10c; pt., 25c; qt., 45c , postpaid; lb., 15c; 2 lbs., 25c; 10 lbs., 81.00; 25 lbs., 82.00 ; 50lbs. and over, 6c. per lb., by express or freight. Collards (Colewort) Collards are largely used as "greens " in some parts of the country, especially South. They are a form of the cab- bage, bearing new leaves as the old ones are pulled off.
