English: Taken at Peggy's Cove (15-20 minutes from home), just trying out the new camera.
For people who want to know: The Sony NEX-7 is working out well, I find it has great colour depth and detail. The controls of the camera (different) are very easy to use and allow me to change setting when in a hurry. Love the tilt LCD screen to aid in low and high perspective shots. I still may have to change some small adjustable settings such as contrast, sometimes I feel there is to much contrast in shots but not really sure as yet (maybe the very sunny days). The lens I am using is a Tamron 18-200 Di III VC lens (on loan) which is a little to slow in some lighting situations but it is still great for travelling. The camera takes really useable pictures up to 1600 ISO and the lens has Vibration Control so things work out well. I am waiting for the same lens (18-200) from Sony which I had ordered from day one (due in August), I read it is the same lens with a Sony name. I am waiting to see what other lens will be released by Sony and will buy a faster lens for museums and other indoor shots. MOST OF ALL IT IS SO MUCH LIGHTER THAN THE D300 AND ITS 18-200 LENS, D300 & LENS = 3.29 LB, NEX-7 & LENS = 1.77 LB |
