Description

Les collections du département des Objets d’art offrent un large panorama de la décoration intérieure, de la production des grandes manufactures, de l’artisanat et du commerce d’art, principalement français, du règne de Louis XIV à la Révolution..... Le nouveau parcours, présentant plus de deux mille objets, a vocation à éclairer aussi bien l’histoire des techniques que celle des styles, à présenter les grandes résidences et les principales personnalités du temps : artisans, artistes ou commanditaires. Le circuit est divisé en trois grandes séquences chronologiques et stylistiques :

- 1660-1725 : règne personnel de Louis XIV et la Régence - 1725-1755 : épanouissement du style rocaille - 1755-1790 : retour au classicisme et règne de Louis XVI.
