SACERDOTE LOCAL ELEGIDO PARA EL CARGO DE OBISPO

El Rev. Ramiro Delgado-Vera, Vicario de la Iglesia Episcopal de la Epifanía en Raymondville, ha sido elegido Obispo de la Diócesis Episcopal de Cuernavaca en la Provincia de México. Había tres candidatos para el cargo y el reverendo Delgado-Vera fue elegido en la primera votación. La Diócesis de Cuernavaca está formada por los Estados de Morelos y Guerrero con la Iglesia Catedral ubicada en Cuernavaca.

El reverendo Delgado-Vera se graduó de la Facultad de Teología de la Universidad del Sur en Sewanee. Después de su ordenación al sacerdocio, trabajó en varias iglesias de México antes de venir a Raymondville en 1998.

Comenzará a asumir sus funciones en septiembre con su consagración programada para enero de 2003 en Cuernavaca.

LOCAL PRIEST ELECTED TO OFFICE OF BISHOP

The Rev. Ramiro Delgado-Vera, Vicar of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Raymondville, has been elected Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Cuernavaca in the Province of Mexico. There were three candidates for the office and the Rev. Delgado- Vera was elected on the first ballot. The Diocese of Cuernavaca consists of the States of Morelos and Guerrero with the Cathedral Church located in Cuernavaca.

The Rev. Delgado-Vera is a graduate of the School of Theology at the University of the South at Sewanee. After his ordination to the priesthood he worked in various churches in Mexico before coming to Raymondville in 1998.

He will begin assumption of his duties in September with his consecration scheduled for January, 2003 in Cuernavaca.
