Summary
[edit]DescriptionNose Art - Hell's Belles.jpg |
English: Low resolution screenshot from a Universal Newsreel of U.S. military aircraft nose art titled "Hell's Belles." Newsreel is silent at this section, stated "Airplane Graveyard" - "Kingman, Arizona: Countless millions in war equipment are parked in this Arizona graveyard. Bombers and fighter planes which blasted the Axis now sit with idle engines, silent memories of war and the cost of waging war." Screenshot at 2:51 into the newsreel. As noted in the Universal Newsreel article, in 1976 the newsreel film's owner, MCA, "made the unusual decision to turn over ownership of all of the newsreels to the National Archives. The decision effectively ended Universal's copyright claim, releasing the films into the public domain." |
