| Description |
English: Norwich city engine shed. The foundations to Norwich city engine shed. This was the M&GN line from Norwich to Melton constable. The line was built in 1882 and finished in stages in 1959 to passengers and 1969 to freight. The line up to just north of Whitwell station was turned into Marriots way. The engine shed seen here, it has a blue brick floor and two pits (for servicing underneath engines) the concrete blocks held the steel work.
The steelwork actually ended up in Weybourne sheds on the North Norfolk railway. 1185757 |
