Summary
[edit]DescriptionNorton Junction - geograph.org.uk - 862712.jpg |
English: Norton Junction The single track railway leading off to the left is the line to Oxford from Worcester via Pershore, Evesham, etc.. It was built as the Great Western Railway's Oxford Worcester and Wolverhampton branch line and was originally double-tracked, losing that status in the 1970s. Off to the right the double tracked railway is the line to Cheltenham Spa from Worcester which joins up with the Birmingham to Cheltenham Spa line about a kilometre around the corner at Abbots Wood Junction. The signal box has a couple of typical GWR finials on its roof. |
