Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Built in 1881, this former industrial warehouse building, built by the Northwestern Hide & Fur Company, and later known as the Coal Burning Distributors Company, was heavily rehabbed in 2009 and 2016 with the interior configured for a restaurant, bar, and office space. The simple building features a buff brick facade, a parapet that suggests that the building once had a cornice, decorative extruded brick surrounds at the windows, a rear portion, added in 1902, that is more Classical Revival in style with wider window openings and brick corbels, arched first-floor openings, and larger arched openings on the first floor on the front of the building that once served as large garage doors that provided access for goods to move in and out of the building. The building is a contributing structure in the Minneapolis Warehouse Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
