| Description |
The Airbus A320 first flew on March 22, 1991. As of April 2010 it has been painted into the latest Delta Air Lines colors. Shot taken from a DC-9...easy to recognize because of the state-of-the-art engine I sat next to during the flight to DTW...the DC-9 itself, a version -51, was N676MC. This wonderful machine first flew on November 18, 1975. Its first operator, for almost a decade, was Austrian Airlines, as OE-LDL. In March 1985, the McDonnell Douglas machine received its current registration. Until 1986 the 9er was with Muse Air, then with TranStar until September 1987. At this point the aircraft was transferred to Eastern Airlines, where N676MC remained until 1991. In that year the DC-9 was shortly operated by Continental Airlines (March until October). Since March 1992 the aircraft served with Northwest Airlines, now in service with Delta... quite some history on that bird...I hope this changeful history qualifies for a place in a museum one day, in a still quite distant future though... |
